6210 Meetings

I attended two 6210 meetings and my reaction has been of being familier with the process. In the e-learning company I have worked in India, we have faced the same issues and almost similar procedure. However, it did come to me as a surprize that the process followed by the 6210 teams is more or less the way we do it in the professional settings.

Following are the meeting briefs of two 6210 meetings I attended:

Meeting brief #1
Team: Grow Dawgs
Date: Oct 13th, 2005

Present for the meeting:

Bandy Bellamy, Project Manager.

Yiwen Tan, the Instructional Designer,

Yue Li , The Programmer and

Min Ling the Graphic Designer.

The agenda for the meeting was to finalize the flowcharts for the site. They had worked out the detailed navigation plan, and now sat together to finalize it. They discussed each navigation flow and made modifications where required.

They also discussed the style sheets prepared by Brandy. In this she has detailed the look and feel components for the whole site. This ensure that these components remain consistent throughout the site. Brandy explained this in detail and the group agreed to follow this stylesheet.

They worked for about an hour to finalze the flowcharts and get consensus on the style sheets. And then decided the schedule to meet for the next meeting

Meeting brief #2
Team: i Design
Date: Oct 20th, 2005

Present for the meeting:

Ericka Mayweather, Project Manager

Anika Francis, Lead Instructional Designer

Emily Adams, Evaluator

Ericka, the project manager was a little upset about some missed deadlines by some project member group and everyone not turning up for the meeting. She mentioned to me that this is something that project manager can expect and she will deal with it.

Anika, the lead instructional designer and Emily Adams who is the lead evaluator together went over the storyboards. The storyboards have been done by Anika and she mentioned that the storyboard should be detailed enough so that the programmers could understand it properly and it does not come back for review very often. Anika and Emily discussed the storyboards in detail and made the modifications where required.

Anika mentioned that they have designed three modules: for Kids, teens and adults. She also mentioned that English was not the first language for the target audience and they have faced some problem in designing the content. The content was manily researched by them with some guidance from the client.

They finished the review of the storyboards and then decided the schedule for the next meeting
