The University of Georgia- Tunisia Partnershipis a comprehensive and holistic effort to build a stronger information society both in the US and Tunisia . A collaborative effort of US and Tunisia government, University of Georgia, University System of Georgia and Tunisian Universities; this Partnership has brought together higher education leaders, administrators, faculty and students in Tunisia and Georgia. This strong alliance is catalyst in forging International and regional cooperation and enhancing digital solidarity.
The Partnershipis a holistic effort to modernize Tunisia 's Higher Education System. The Partnership aims to support the overall goals of the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Technology and Tunisian universities in their reform efforts to increase its relevance and impact on social and economic development, and further tune it to international trends in education. The project which is grounded in the reality of Tunisia is comprehensive and far reaching. And it is committed to implement goals which are widely shared in the whole of MENA region. By engaging in this partnership, the University of Georgia fulfills its international public service and outreach mission, diversifies its teaching and research program, and provides the UGA community, particularly students with the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for a strategically important area of the world and its culture, history and values.
The partnership has impacted the various sphere of Higher education in Tunisia such as human resource Development, Capacity Building, technical infrastructure building etc.
